Strategies for Success Essay – Terry Pollard – Owensboro Campus

September 30, 2008 – 6:02 pm

The following essay was written by Terry Pollard, a Massage Therapy student at the conclusion of the Strategies for Success class.

I am who I am. Do what I can.  Manipulating my hands.  Do it to perfection, of what I’m use to.  Unfortunately this picture to me is not really true.  Do me, myself through and through.  The potential inside barely gleams through.  Try and try the best in my mind.  Not the greatest inside.  Untamed unstructured.  Need reconstruction.  Distracted through interruption.  So reluctant.  Feel change is going to come.  I shall not run.  I will overcome.

I am succeeding and pleading.  Sacrifice and needing.  Without, without, without even a doubt.  I hold in my scream for my potential stream.  It’s okay to be afraid.  It’s only just a phase.  It’s not okay to stay afraid.  Leaving myself in a daze.  Two to grow.  Three minds to blossom.  Hand out the ticket.  Open the pages and fix it.  Stand tall and think strong.  Listen to my achievements song.  Learning hands of skill.  Laws of feel.  Strategies on how to keep my future real.

Waking up to the sun. Closer to the one.  Inside of me to finish that which has not been done.  Now I’m on a roll.  First wheel in control; now I’m one step closer to completing my goal.  I am later now.  Future and presence, mine turned around.  Crowd applause with extensive pause.  Silence throughout the town.  Claps of joy spread like surround.  I hear proudly, congratulation, and without a glimpse of hesitation, it’s my graduation.  With the completed wheels in motion.  I skipped an unnecessary promotion.  I have now gone from frontline and commotion to owning my business, tables, oils, and lotions.  Putting my hands through the test.  Healing others making them their best.  With a professional touch take away their aches, pains, and all their stress.  Relaxing their minds so they can rest.

No quitting, No withdraws, No dropouts; this is my strategies to success.
