Daymar College Presents Project Hope Humane Society with Event Proceeds

November 18, 2011 – 12:56 pm

On Saturday, October 1, some of the biggest dog lovers in Paducah, Ky., hit the ground running – literally – to raise money for the Project Hope Humane Society.  Daymar College’s Fast and Furriest 5K, held in Paducah’s Nobel Park, raised $3,300 for the no-kill animal shelter in Metropolis, Ill.

Participants of all ages laced up their running shoes for a 5K run, walk and kid’s fun run event. Furry friends of all shapes and sizes also joined the cause!

Daymar College would like to thank all of the sponsors, vendors and volunteers who helped make the Fast and Furriest 5K a success.  Without them, it couldn’t have been possible!

Platinum sponsors:

  • Flanary Veterinary Clinic
  • City National Bank
  • Sherri Morrill, State Farm Agent
  • Harrah’s Metropolis

Gold sponsor:

  • RiverGraphics

Silver sponsors:

  • Donna’s Doggie Den
  • Companion Animal Hospital

Bronze sponsor:

  • BioKinetics

As a no-kill shelter, Project Hope promotes spaying and neutering rather than euthanasia, which can be an expensive undertaking.  The shelter takes in special needs pets that often would have to be put to sleep at a “typical” shelter.  The shelter accepts financial and supply donations.

On Saturday, October 22, Daymar College presented Project Hope with the $3,300 check, which will help the shelter stay in operation.  Daymar College is proud to make a difference in the lives of our furry friends!
